The Thinking Behind the New SpiceFactory

Marijana Vukovic · · 3 min read

Beyond the new look and feel lies a commitment to technical rigor. Discover how SpiceFactory is evolving its "Studio Model" to deliver proprietary intelligence systems and clean, architectural discipline for healthcare, automotive, and IoT partners.

SpiceFactory has always been a product studio. Since 2014, we've built products from scratch to product-market fit by co-creating with our partners. Understanding the user. Understanding the why. Engineering what the market actually needs, not what a brief says it needs.

For a long time, that meant working across many industries. And we were good at it. Over time, we started going deeper in certain spaces: healthcare, logistics, automotive and IoT. Not because someone wrote it on a roadmap but because the problems were harder, the stakes were higher, and our teams kept building expertise that compounded with every engagement.

That's what pushed us toward where we are now: a vertical-focused product studio. The depth was already there and the focus had already formed.

This is what the new SpiceFactory makes official. We're doubling down on the industries where we've built real, battle-tested expertise, and we're using that depth to elevate how these industries operate.

On AI: Intelligence with a Purpose

We're not interested in AI as a positioning move, and we're skeptical of products that treat it as one. What we focus on is applied AI: engineering proprietary intelligence systems from operational data turning raw signals into strategic advantage that compounds over time. Automating high-volume guest engagement in hospitality. Making complex supply chain data navigable and actionable. The through-line is always the same: the AI has to be grounded in proprietary data and operational reality, or it's just a demo.

The products that will hold up aren't the ones that added an AI feature. They're the ones that rethought a core operation around what AI actually makes possible. That's the distinction we keep coming back to when we scope this work with partners.

Why the Visual Identity Had to Evolve Too

This is the part that's easy to dismiss as cosmetic, so it's worth being direct about why it mattered to us. The new look and feel of SpiceFactory is meant to be a direct extension of our engineering philosophy. We wanted the visual experience to match the rigor of our internal process.

  • Precision and Clarity: Our new look is an extension of our engineering philosophy. We’ve stripped away the noise to focus on hierarchy and purpose. If we advocate for clean architecture in our code, our digital home should reflect that same discipline.
  • The Studio Feel: The design is meant to feel like an invitation into our workspace. It’s clean, rigorous, and intellectually honest. We wanted the "look and feel" to compliment our "frictionless" approach, making it easier for our peers and partners to find the information they need without the noise.
  • Rooted in Empathy: Even as we talk about technical architecture, we haven't lost sight of the human on the other side of the screen. Every design decision was made to make information more accessible and our partnership more transparent.

Staying True to the Core

While our presentation has matured, our foundation remains the same. We're still the same team of engineers, designers, and strategists driven by a deep passion for computer science and a commitment to solving hard problems with technology. We still co-create, becoming an extension of our partners' teams, not a vendor managing deliverables.

What's changed is clarity about who we are, the industries we serve, and the kind of intelligence we engineer. The new site is a more accurate reflection of who we've become and a sharper signal for the kind of partners who belong here.

If you're building something high-stakes in healthcare, logistics, automotive, or IoT and you want a product studio that already speaks your language, let's talk.
